This, Being for the Benefit of Mr Kait! (kait is Malaysian for relations)

HiFiLust finally received our mailed physical copy of The Beatles’ much vaunted stereo remix of ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’!

Our brief review of the CDs at 16-bit 44.1kHz reminds us why the 2009 Stereo Remasters literally suck slimey Snipe (from Pixar’s ‘Up’) tinnitus-laced doo-doo.
Giles Martin and those Parlophone folks, who now report to UMGe, have truly nailed this 2017 remaster that stays true to the Mono grail remasters of ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’.

Lest you Stereophiles close the page in view of your perception of our perhaps non-stereo blasphemous review here, Fab Four Fans and archival Beatlemaniacs do agree that the Mono Parlophone original pressing is the way to hear ‘Pepper’.
That’s the pressing the Beatles spent time mixing with Martin Senior (Sir George, mindya), to achieve Sonic Superlatives that The Beach Boys later tried to emulate.
And how!
The original Stereo Parlophone of ‘Sgt’ wasn’t approved nor was it even heard by any Beatle *gasp*.

As such, Stereo ‘Sgt’ was a tremendous blotch on the Beatles Catalogue as Michael Jackson found out upon Sony-ATV’s purchase of the Fab Four’s transfer of royalties.

Very soon, HiFiLust shall reveal our racy review of the Ultimate Baby Boomer Album of ALL TIME!
